day 02 - your least favorite song
I’m not posting this as an audio, because if it’s supposed to be my least favorite, there’s no reason for it to be on my Tumblr. :)
It took me a while to reach this verdict, as, similar to day one, I don’t have a labeled “This is my most hated song ever” song. For a while, I considered ranting about Rolling In The Deep by Adele. Well, I did rant about it. But, I thought of something even better (worse).
Taylor Swift - Love Story.
Where. Do. I. Even. Begin. First off, I think I’ve made it clear I’m a huge Shakespeare fan by now. Let me just start off my saying Romeo and Juliet, to me, is not so much a tragedy as it is a satirical tragedy about how foolish young love is. In my interpretation of the play, I see two hormonally charged up teenagers, who die and teach everyone a lesson. Don’t get me wrong, I love that play, I just think it’s silly to call it a tragic love story. If I’m looking into it wrong, allow me to say I apologize Shakespeare.
Okay, with that said, let’s get into this song. First, if you’re going to allude to the characters Romeo and Juliet, get the story straight. They die. Even in the Greek mythological version, the two characters die a tragic, ironic death.
Second, they were not princess/prince. They were from two house holds, both alike in dignity.
Third, I remember this song coming on during my Junior year prom. My boyfriend at the time and my best friend were dancing to it, singing at the top of their lungs. And me and her boyfriend at the time were sitting there complaining about how much the song sucked. Good times.
Last, but not least, this song sucks. End of discussion.
