I love it when
you hear a song, and everything about it fits you so perfectly in that exact moment. And every word, and ever chord, and every note describes your exact feeling, right then and there, as though the song was written specifically for you.

day 03 - a song that makes you happy
Roll Away Your Stone - Mumford & Sons
A couple jobs ago, I used to play this song when I opened. And I would blast it in the back, and I would sing at the top of my lungs “STAAAAAAAR HIDE YOUR FIIIRES THESE HERE ARE MY DESIRESSSS AND I WON’T GIVE THEM UP TO YOU THIS TIME AROOOUND”.
Macbeth? Mumford & Sons? Yes, please. This song always picks me up, even if the lyrics aren’t exactly “happy”. Also, I just really love Mumford & Sons. So logically, they’re going to make me happy.
day 02 - your least favorite song
I’m not posting this as an audio, because if it’s supposed to be my least favorite, there’s no reason for it to be on my Tumblr. :)
It took me a while to reach this verdict, as, similar to day one, I don’t have a labeled “This is my most hated song ever” song. For a while, I considered ranting about Rolling In The Deep by Adele. Well, I did rant about it. But, I thought of something even better (worse).
Taylor Swift - Love Story.
day 01 - your favorite song
I don’t have a favorite song. I don’t like that label, simply because there’s so much music out there that I love. There are so many songs that I hold dearly. But for the sake of this challenge, I will pick one. Just one.
Jugband Blues - Pink Floyd
As a Pink Floyd fan since the age of 13, I’ve known and liked this song for quite some time. However, my senior year of high school, I wrote a huge research paper on Syd Barrett for my AP Lit class. We had to take a poet and dissect their poems and tie them back to their life. I analyzed the ever living hell out of this song, and it’s been love ever since. This song is so powerful, and Syd Barrett’s words are beautifully put together. I know there’s a lot of controversy over this song with people that think Syd is diagnosing himself with a mental disorder (schizophrenia) by writing this song. While, yes, it is inevitably true that Syd’s mind was different than most, to think that he wrote this song to say “HEY I’m a schizo!” is completely foolish. At the time, his band mates, his friends, the people that supposedly understood him, or should have understood him, better than others thought he was going crazy. They were in the mist of replacing him, and ultimately kicking him out of a band he helped create.
Anyway, I’m starting to rant. As you can see, I’m really into this song.
